Part 1: The attack on the Christian faith, Judaeo-Christian values and aspects of Western civilisation (General introduction)
Introduction
The articles within the 'New World Order' part of our Resource Hub have been written to make readers aware of the global trends which have shaped, and are shaping, our world. All have their part to play in the formation of the One World Government and Religion which will emerge at the end of the age.
One significant global trend we monitor involves the concerted and virulent campaign against the Christian faith, Judaeo-Christian values and aspects of Western civilisation. As we said in the introduction to the New World Order, this trend is at the very heart of the New World Order and the source of every other trend. This attack is becoming increasingly better organised.
The aim and source of the attack
This global attack is geared ultimately towards the annihilation of Christianity; of belief in the transcendent God of the Bible; of biblical and moral standards of behaviour; of aspects such as fairness, liberty and justice; of freedom of conscience, religion and education; of free speech and open debate; of free enterprise economy/capitalism and democratic government.
At one level, it's an attack on Western culture. A culture which has largely been founded on the Christian faith and Judaeo-Christian values. It's led variously by liberal, secular, religious and ideologically driven individuals and groups within the intelligentsia – those who would consider themselves to be the ruling elite. They see themselves as progressive, open-minded, tolerant, intellectually and spiritually enlightened. They seek nothing less than a world devoid of Christian influence - the One World Religion it seeks excludes orthodox Christianity.
This elite group includes politicians, world leaders, international bankers and financial institutions, secret societies/organisations, national and international organisations and foundations, multinational companies, non-governmental organisations (NGO's), collegiate fraternities, gentlemen’s clubs, think tanks, intelligence agencies, former key political leaders, wealthy oligarchs, New Age devotees, religious leaders and members of the apostate and Emerging Church, etc.
In more recent times, Islam, whose ideological hatred of Christians and Jews is there for all to see, has become something of a celebrated insider (albeit a strange bedfellow), receiving unbridled support from many within this elite group. This is an interesting development and one that needs watching.
The 60s era
The recent phase in this on-going campaign against the God of the Bible and his purposes, emerged in the last century, with the decade of the 60s proving to be a defining moment. The New Left (one group within this elitist band) involving agitators, activists and educators in the UK and US set on changing society, first appeared in the 60s when the worldview known as Modernism was giving way to Postmodernism.
A radical shift was taking place in how people viewed themselves and the world around them. Those who had lived through the nightmares of two world wars were no longer confident in the Modern worldview and were ready for change.
The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones and other poet Philosophers were challenging perceptions and changing mindsets through their songs. They opened a door in the West to drugs and Eastern Mysticism believing that the long awaited Age of Aquarius was breaking in. Together with the New Left and neo-pagans (more below), they were the 'movers and shakers' of the time and the media (owned and controlled by international bankers within the elite) was quick to promote their ideas.
The slogan ‘Make love not war’, the Hippies' counter culture movement, the pill and sexual freedom, the use of drugs, the 1967 Abortion Act, the legalising of male homosexuality, reflected the change in attitudes. The status quo was under sustained attack from all sides and all forms of authority were systematically rejected, including biblical authority.
The neo-pagans, occultists and New Agers made significant progress in the 60s. Theosophist Alice Bailey’s demonically inspired ten point strategy to set people free from what she called ‘Christian restrictions’, including kicking God out of schools, allowing abortions and homosexuality and destroying the Christian family model, epitomised much of her thinking.
Bailey's final point, which was to persuade the Church to endorse all the other nine points, was potentially the most difficult for her to achieve. And yet today the institutional Church, by and large, has endorsed every aspect of her plan, and it's clear that the pagans have gained the upper hand! Today, paganism and mystical practices are mainstream, affecting every area of life, whilst Christianity is being pushed to the margins.
Embracing Postmodernism
The result of embracing Postmodernism over the past 50 years has meant a marked shift in the way society thinks. Tolerance, religious pluralism (Christianity is no more valid than any other religion or philosophy) and relativism (truth and moral values are not absolute, but relative to the group in which they originate) have become the norm. Personal morality is no longer governed by objective and transcendent truth, but is simply seen as a product of local decision making.
Openness without the restraint of reason, and tolerance without moral appraisal are the tenets of Postmodernism and the New Spirituality that is emerging. The notion of one absolute and universal truth to unite humanity is now rejected and anyone who considers that they have ultimate truth is considered arrogant and naive. Hence the attack on conservative evangelicals and orthodox Jews.
And so today much of what the progressive ruling elite could only long for in the 60s, has become today's reality. Encouraged by this, they will not stop now until everything they want is accomplished.
